Time for Tots at N.C. Museum of History
From 10 to 10:45 a.m., Time for Tots: Look at Lighthouses will give children ages 3-5 (with adult) a chance to learn about North Carolina’s lighthouses, and make their own beacon of light to take home. $1 per child. From 10 to 11 a.m., History Corner: Beat the Heat! will allow children ages 6-9 (with adult) to discover old-fashioned ways to beat the heat. A donations-requested yoga class will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Evolve Movement, 8470 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. The session will focus on adaptive yoga for all skill sets.

Independence Day celebration
Joel Lane Museum House will hold its 23rd annual historic Independence Day open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 160 S. Saint Mary’s St., Raleigh. Admission is free, though donations will be taken.
