Panther Creek juniors Jordan Strickland and Sammi Smith wrapped up their third straight N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A doubles tennis championship with a dominating performance Saturday while Wakefield’s Susanne Boyden repeated her title in singles.
Boyden, a junior, outlasted Cary senior Supriya Narisetti 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the semifinal. Narisetti had won 6-0, 6-0 in both of her Friday matches.
Against Peyton Pesavento of Winston-Salem’s R.J. Reynolds, Boyden won 6-3, 6-3. Boyden’s brother Bo, a senior, also has two NCHSAA singles championships.
Strickland and Smith defeated East Chapel Hill’s Caroline Pope and Brooke Pritchard 6-1, 6-0 in the finals at Millbrook Exchange Park to finish the season undefeated at 21-0.

“They overcame some tough opponents this week,” Panther Creek coach Nathaniel Blalock said. “It was good to see them play so well together. They came out strong.”
Strickland and Smith beat Charlotte Myers Park’s Katie Soden and Gaby Soden in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) Saturday morning to set up the showdown with East Chapel Hill.
The Wildcats defeated Charlotte Providence and Sanderson in the early rounds, and Green Hope in the semifinals.
“They (Panther Creek) are just so good,” East Chapel Hill coach Lindsey Linker said. “But I’m really proud of our team. Caroline has been a mentor to Brooke and helped her game to really improve. We have a bright future.”
