Two Goldsboro men have been charged with sexual assault in Smithfield after they posted the attack online, according to Smithfield Police Chief Michael Scott.
Investigators think the men may have used a date rape drug to sexually assault a 26-year-old woman they met at a party on Sept. 5. The woman called police after viewing the assault on a social media site, Scott said in a news release.
Investigators charged Travis Devon Graham, 28, with one felony count each of first-degree rape and conspiracy to commit rape.
A second man, Juan Hernandez Sanders Jr., 23, was charged with conspiracy to commit rape.
The woman told police that she was under the influence of “an intoxicating substance or drug at the time of the assault rendering her unconscious,” Scott said.
Investigators are still trying to determine what substance was used to make the woman unconscious, he said.
