Sheila Garner is Johnston County’s tax administrator, overseeing the listing, assessing and collecting of all property taxes.
County Commissioners appointed Garner, 49, to the post in January after Pat Goddard retired.
Garner’s history with the tax office goes back to 1987, when she worked for the company hired to do the county’s property revaluation. Johnston hired her that year as a real-estate analyst, and she held a number of posts before being promoted to real-estate manager in 1994.
Garner lives in Princeton with her husband, Jerry. They have a daughter, Christina, a graduate of Duke University, and three dogs, Lacy, Gracie and Jaxon.
