Road meeting in Cleveland
A public meeting on improvements to the Interstate 40-N.C. 42 interchange in Johnston County will be held Thursday, June 19, at West View Elementary School, 11755 Cleveland Road.
From 4 to 7 p.m., N.C. Department of Transportation employees will be on hand to answer questions and receive comments.
The proposed improvements, stretching to Cleveland and Cornwallis roads, are designed to increase mobility and reduce congestion. Project maps are available at ncdot.gov/projects/publicmeetings/.
Written comments or questions can be submitted at the meeting or to the DOT’s Anamika Laad at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 3.
School names executive director
Dr. Julie Jailall has been named executive director of Neuse Charter School. The longtime educator in the Johnston County schools is just Neuse Charter’s second executive director since the school’s founding in 2006.
Jimmy Lloyd is chairman of the Neuse Charter Board of Directors, which conducted a nationwide search for the school’s next leader. “The result of this arduous hiring process is a person who shares our dreams, our vision … literally almost word for word, unprompted,” he said. “Her expectations of excellence and drive to set the standard for all will mirror the culture we have fostered for ourselves at NCS. She was simply the unanimous choice.”
Jailall is a reading and writing expert. “My vision is to expand the services of the school to other parts of Johnston County so that more of Johnston County’s children can benefit from the school’s exemplary programs and curriculum.”
