Delana Jayne Parker and Robert Christopher Miles Rountree, both of Wilson, exchanged wedding vows May 31, 2014, in a five o’clock ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Wilson. The Reverend Doctor William Presnell officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William David Parker, Jr. of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Audrey Barnes Creech and the late Mr. Heba Leo Creech of Smithfield, and the late Mrs. Mary Lee Moore Parker and Mr. William David Parker of Wilson. A graduate of R.L. Fike High School and North Carolina State University, the bride earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, in business management and is a Wealth Relationship Manager at Branch Banking and Trust Company.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patrick Rountree of Wilson. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Christopher Rountree, Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Morton Miles, all of Wilson. The groom is a graduate of R.L. Fike High School and Appalachian State University. He received his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. He is a real estate attorney in Wilson and a partner with the law firm of Narron & Holdford, P.A.
Escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory charmeuse satin gown with a lace overlay. Lace over the shoulders led to a sheer lace paneled back with a keyhole opening. Accentuating the waist was an ivory sash adorned with lace, crystal beading and pearls. The delicate ivory fingertip veil was trimmed with lace appliqués.

The bride carried a bouquet of green hydrangeas, alstroemerias, white roses and purple statice in a hand tied clutch style wrapped with the lace from the wedding gown of her mother.
Maid of honor was Stephanie Nicole Brown of Saint Petersburg, FL. Bridesmaids were Jordan Audrea Gurkin of Raleigh, cousin of the bride; Margaret Miles Rountree of Wilson, sister of the groom; and Tabitha Renee Wrench of Greenville.
Flower girls were Gigi Margaret Miles of Covington, LA, goddaughter of the groom and Isabelle Rose Parker of Wilson, cousin of the bride.
Best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were Michael Robert Paduchowski of Durham; Benjamin Oren Zellinger of Raleigh; and Brett Creech Parker of Wilson, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Ladd Wallace Mark of Mountain Brook, AL; Barrett Campbell Parker, Jackson Thomas Parker and Brice Raymond Parker, all of Wilson, cousins of the bride.
Ring bearer was Noah Christopher Parker of Wilson, cousin of the bride.
Scripture readers were James Edward Miles II of Morehead City, uncle of the groom; James Edward Miles III and James Edward Miles IV of Covington, LA, cousins of the groom.
Register attendant was Megan Elizabeth Parker of Wilson, cousin of the bride.
Program attendant was Madison Brooke Parker of Wilson, cousin of the bride.
Greeters were Mackenzie Paige Davis and Addison Parker Davis of Raleigh, cousins of the bride.
Wedding music was provided by organist and soloist Mrs. Jennifer Gay of Wilson.
Wedding directors were Dr. Pet Shepherd Pruden and Mrs. Martha Lane Camp of Wilson.
A reception was given by the bride’s parents at Hardy Alumni Hall on Barton College campus in Wilson following the ceremony.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The County Line Bluegrass Barn. A bridesmaid brunch was hosted by Anita Gurkin, aunt of the bride; Samantha Nelms and Anne Wood, aunt of the groom. A groom’s breakfast was hosted by the groom’s father and cousins the morning of the wedding.
After a honeymoon in Bermuda, the couple will reside in Wilson.
