‘Home for the Holidays’

Local dancers in Raleigh production
The Raleigh Dance Theatre will present “Tea for Ruby” at 3 p.m. Nov. 9 and 1 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Fletcher Opera Theatre at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 E. South St., Raleigh. The cast includes a number of dancers from the Garner and Smithfield areas. They are Allison Tormey, Camille Carroll, Chloe Driver, Grace Mook and Doria Mook.

Jubilee’s Christmas show opens Nov. 8

Photos, fiber art on display in Clayton
Works by photographer Rhonda Peters and fiber artist Maureen Wartski are on display this month at The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St., Clayton. A reception for the artists is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at The Clayton Center.
Peters is a retired optometrist who moved to Goldsboro in 2007 after spending most of her career in Chicago. She has been behind a camera since 1987. In 2012, she won the Clayton Art Faire Award of Excellence in photography.
Wartski, a Raleigh resident who was born in Japan, has studied art in Japan, Thailand and the United States. In addition to creating fiber art, she has written nearly 50 novels.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 1. Admission is free. The Clayton Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Art class for toddlers
Doodlebugs, an art class for children ages 18 months to 3 years, meets from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Fridays at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, 600 Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. Children experiment with dough, pudding, gelatin, crayons, watercolors and more. For Smithfield residents, the cost is $5 per session or $19 for four sessions.
