Arts Notes: May 18

Millstock 2014, Clayton’s summer art and music festival, returns to downtown’s Horne Square on June 7. Artists are invited to show and sell their works from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The deadline to enter is May 30; the booth fee is $40. Millstock will be held rain or shine. The festival welcomes works in painting, graphics, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, woodwork and mixed media. All work must be original. A brochure/application form is available at claytonvisualartsnc.org/calendar/2014-millstock. The festival will have several music acts, a free kids’ art booth and a chalk-art contest. Other downtown activity that day includes music at the nearby Flipside restaurant, sales of local food at the Clayton Farmers’ Market and an antique tractor display.
