Yuevonne Owens Lansinger, 63, of Virginia Beach, VA was called home to Heaven on May 9, 2014.
Preceded in death by her father, S.W. Owens of Dry Branch, GA. Survived by her mother, Lorell Owens of Dry Branch, GA; brothers Woody Owens (Nancy) and Jerry Owens (Angie) of Macon, GA; twin sons Shawn Lane (Barbara) and Shanon Lane (Jennifer); 3 beloved grandchildren; and her loving partner, Jim Crutchfield, of Virginia Beach, VA. Yuevonne was a 1968 graduate of A.L. Miller High School in Macon, GA. She earned a BSED degree at Georgia Southern University, as well as advanced degrees from East Carolina University and UNC Wilmington. She dedicated her life to children as an elementary educator in Selma, NC. and in Virginia Beach Public Schools as the Reading Recovery Coordinator. Her passion for education impacted the lives of many children and colleagues. She was an avid reader, beach lover, and an active member of the Virginia Beach Shag Club. Memorial services will be held at Holloman-Brown’s Great Neck Chapel in Virginia Beach, VA on June 7th @ 3 PM and at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cochran, GA on June 14th @ 11 AM.
