Princeton falls in 1A playoffs
Granville Central turned back a game Princeton squad 2-0 in the opening round of the 1A boys soccer playoffs on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were 3-14-1 on the season.
Fall baseball skills camp
The 2014 McGee’s Crrossroads Athletic Association/West Johnston Fall Baseball Skills Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at McGee’s Crossroads Middle School. The cost is $60 per camper or $100 for two kids from the same family. Baseball players in grades 6-12 are eligible. Players will be split into middle school, junior varsity and varsity divisions for instruction. The camp staff will be led by West Johnston High baseball coach Joey Worley and will feature several former college players and pro coaches. Central eliminates West
West Johnston fell to conference rival Harnett Central 3-0 in the opening round of the NCHSAA 4A boys soccer playoffs on Tuesday. The Wildcats finished the season with a 9-12 record. It was the second time West and Central had met in a week’s time. Harnett Central took a 4-1 win in both teams’ regular-season finale on Oct. 22.
