Why Lenoir? “I got along with the coaches from the start. They’re good Christian people and they made every effort to make me feel very welcome. I was able to learn a lot about the team and everything about it just felt right for me.”

Notable: Savanna has had one of the more remarkable athletic careers at Princeton high School in more recent memory. She’s a three-sport all-conference athlete who excels on whatever field or court she plays on despite battling slipping rib syndrome. The syndrome is characterized by ribs coming out of place at various times. An operation could fix the problem but the recovery time would have basically eliminated most of her high school career. So Savanna’s solution was to just play through the pain and do the best she could managing it through therapy and exercises to strengthen her core. … The injury ended her days of pitching on the softball field but it hasn’t stopped her from helping Princeton win eight conference championships combined during her career in volleyball and softball. She was also a standout basketball player scoring 1,623 points during her career and pulling down 873 rebounds. She averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds as a senior. … Savanna considered trying to play both basketball and volleyball in college but will concentrate on volleyball. “I just think it would be too much on me with my injury, so I just decided to play one,” she said. … She’s looking forward to having the chance to focus on one sport in college. “I know that the coaches will help me a lot and develop more depth in my game.” … Transferring into a four-year college to play volleyball is her goal. ... Princeton went to back-to-back eastern regional finals during her junior and senior years in volleyball.
