The Carolina Mudcats have set their promotional schedule for the upcoming season, their first as a farm club of the Atlanta Braves.
Opening night on April 9 will feature a post-game fireworks show and is the first Thirsty Thursday of the season.
The opening night fireworks show is the first of 21 scheduled in Zebulon. Four of the 20 fireworks shows are part of the “Mudcats for America” series versus both the Winston-Salem Dash and Myrtle Beach Pelicans from July 2-5.
The Mudcats’ 25th anniversary season will be highlighted by several fun and exciting promotional theme nights, including “Pro Wrestling Night” (May 3), “Country Western Night” (June 13) and “Mardi Gras Night” (July 16).
The 2015 season will also see celebrity appearances from pro-wrestling icon Sgt. Slaughter (May 3), local football stars Torry and Terrence Holt (May 3) and the always fun Sweet Right Brothers (July 19).

A portion of the proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to cancer research charities.
Saturday, June 27 will be “Parrothead Night” at Five County Stadium. The players will also wear specially designed beach themed jerseys that evening. Like the “Strike Out Cancer Weekend” event, fans will be able to participate in a jersey auction and purchase the beach themed game worn jerseys as well.

Ferrell made baseball history by playing every position for 10 different Major League Baseball teams and over five Cactus League Spring Training games in Arizona yesterday. The experience was part of an HBO special from Ferrell’s comedy website Funny or Die. Memorabilia from the daylong event will be auctioned on MLB.com with proceeds going to Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer.
During Strikeout Cancer Weekend at Five County Stadium, the Mudcats players will don specially designed jerseys for all three games in the series. The game worn jerseys will then be auctioned off and made available for fans following the Sunday, May 17, game scheduled to start at 2 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to local cancer-fighting charities.
The Mudcats will host the Myrtle Beach Pelicans during the weekend series.
