Members of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce and the town council asked Wake County Board of Education member Susan Evans for a new high school, and renovations to Fuquay-Varina High School, at a recent meeting.
Members of the Wake County school board and Cary Town Council as well as the Wake County commissioners’ chairman gathered Thursday morning for a ceremonial groundbreaking event at 7612 Roberts Road, where the school district plans to open a new high school facility in 2017.
The Wake County school system is investigating a Twitter account that claims to show videos of student fights taking place this school year at Panther Creek High School in Cary. Principal Camille Hedrick talked to students shown in the videos and determined several fights were not real but, staged so they could be posted on social media, according to Lisa Luten, a Wake County schools spokeswoman.
