The Cary Town Council likes having a pixelated image of trees with internal light shining through in a concept for a new downtown parking deck. The council gave Wake County representatives feedback on regional library and parking deck concepts for future structures in downtown Cary. Representatives will return in August with final plan and cost estimates.
The Cary Town Council denied a rezoning request to allow a convenience store and gas station at the Reedy Creek Plaza Shopping Center on Northeast Maynard Road. The gas station was expected to be a Sheetz. The chain also is eying a location on Southeast Cary Parkway.
The Cary Town Council discussed the town’s proposed plan for the Eastern Cary Gateway Special Planning Area on Wednesday. This area includes the Cary Towne Center, Triangle Aquatic Center, WakeMed Soccer Park and a 90-acre site where a Wegmans may be built.
