A man whom police chased on foot and arrested after a stolen car crashed into a van last week was charged Wednesday with 12 counts of breaking into or entering motor vehicles.
Investigators served arrest warrants on Rashaad Antwain McKnight, 22, at the Wake County Detention Center, where he has been held in lieu of $250,000 bail since his arrest July 31.
Police had gone to the area of Donaldson Court in the northeast Cary on July 31 after residents reported seeing suspicious activity around their cars.
Three vehicles fled the area as police arrived, and one driven by McKnight smashed into the van on Walnut Street, they said.
All of the breaking or entering charges are from the day of the incident.
