Two charges from Wake County sheriff’s deputies Monday brought to 76 the number of counts against an 18-year-old who has been charged in three counties with breaking into vehicles, stealing items from them and stealing nine cars.
A magistrate who added $50,000 to bring the total bail for Christian Qwan Alston to $835,000 noted that he had 74 pending charges before that.
Alston, whose address is listed on arrest warrants as 603 Branniff Drive in Cary but who has no permanent address listed on booking reports, was first arrested Sept. 12.
Since then, police agencies in Wake, Johnston and Franklin counties have filed charges tying Alston to cases they have been investigating.
The charges on Monday concerned cars entered on Aug. 27, warrants stated.
In a separate case Monday, Morrisville police charged Hector Ramon Parrilla Jr., 47, who lives at the Wake County Men’s Shelter at 1420 S. Wilmington St. in Raleigh, was charged with 11 car break-ins on July 31.
Last week, Knightdale police charged Parrilla with 21 counts of breaking into cars and 18 counts of misdemeanor larceny on the night of Aug. 2 and the morning of Aug. 3.
The new charges brought Parrilla’s total bail to $375,000.
Alston and Parrilla were due to return to court Tuesday for appearances on the latest charges.
