Cary police ask for help to find robbery suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man they believe robbed an Arby’s restaurant employee Monday morning.

Police suspect Derek Allan Carey, 25, of the 5300 block of Wayne St. in Raleigh robbed the worker at the eatery at 1031 N. Harrison Ave. The employee was opening the restaurant at the time.

The suspect demanded money and showed a weapon, according to police. No one was hurt.

Carey is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 5 inches and weighs 165 pounds. He has short brown hair, pierced ears and facial hair, according to a news release from the town of Cary.

Authorities believe Carey is still in the Triangle, according to police.
