Police charged a 21-year-old man with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor for having what they said were pictures of young boys in sexual circumstances.
David Josiah Thompson of 309 Potomac Grove Place was arrested when he surrendered at the Wake County Detention Center on Hammond Road in Raleigh, an arrest report stated, and he was being held in lieu of $1,500 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.
Arrest warrants accused Thompson of having six online images of pre-teen boys on July 22.
Three days later, Cary police charged Thompson with driving while impaired, and he is scheduled for a court appearance Oct. 15 in that case.
Cary police have a cybercrimes unit that aggressively pursues Internet crime.
