Jose Alfredo Cruz Jr. was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child in Cary, and Raleigh police added another count Tuesday morning.

Cary police charged that Cruz, 26, of 1913 Pinetuck Court in Cary had been involved with a 9-year-old on Sunday. Their arrest warrants for first-degree sex offense with a child did not divulge the child’s sex.

While Cruz was being held on $200,000 bail for a Tuesday court appearance, Raleigh police served a warrant charging first-degree sex offense with a child on Jan. 1.

Cruz’s bail was raised to $700,000.
