Olive Chapel Elementary PTA earns award

The PTA of Olive Chapel Elementary School in Apex earned the Ruby Acorn Award of the North Carolina PTA for having all full-time teachers enrolled in the PTA. Olive Chapel Elementary was the only school in Wake County to receive this award.

Cary High School student earns award

The Colonel L.L. Polk Camp #1486 presented the Sons of Confederate Veterans HL Hunley Leadership Award to Cadet Joseph Jeter of the Cary High School Naval JROTC Program in May.

Holly Springs students compete in festival

The Holly Springs High School Intermediate Chorale competed in the Music in The Parks Festival on May 10 in Virginia. The chorale won first place in the Mixed Choir category, a trophy and a rating of excellent.

Feed the Bin Recycling Awards

The Wake County Feed the Bin Program gave Feed the Bin Recycling Awards to local schools. West Lake Elementary School of Apex recycled the most total pounds (18,750). Other winners included Mills Park Elementary School of Cary and Holly Springs High School.

Classroom Technology Awards
