A Cary man is accused of firing a weapon at an occupied home.
Police say Thomas Kyle Cauther, 21, discharged a shotgun into a duplex residence on the 100 block of Karen Court on July 3, according to an arrest warrant.
Police suspect he was trying to kill one of the two people inside the residence. An arrest warrant lists the suspect’s residence as 2225 Grande Valley Circle.
Cauther faces charges of attempted murder and discharging a weapon into occupied property, the arrest warrant states.
Capt. Don Hamilton, head of investigations for Cary police, said Thursday that detectives did not think the Karen Count house was chosen randomly, but he declined further comment because the case remained under investigation.
Cauther was held arrested Wednesday morning on Northwoods Village Drive and held at the Wake County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
