Boy Scouts earn Eagle rank

Sam Briggs, a member of Boy Scout Troop 531, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. For his project, he built three benches for a neighborhood park in Cary. He is a student at Middle Creek High School.

Christopher Dean, a member of Boy Scout Troop 209, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He designed and built horseshoe pits at Jordan Lake Educational State Forest. He is a recent graduate of Panther Creek High School in Cary and the son of Paul and Barbara Dean.

Ryan Schmedding, a member of Boy Scout Troop 209, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He led a group building new swimming blocks. He is a recent graduate of Apex High School and the son of Bob and Elizabeth Schmedding.

Noah Winstead, a member of Boy Scout Troop 209, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He planned and led the construction of a mulch guard for the playground at Peak United Methodist Church. He is a senior at Panther Creek High School and the son of Wayne and Cara Winstead.

Local students serve as pages

Arjun Keshava, a student at Wake Early College of Health and Sciences, served as a page for the N.C. House of Representatives. He was sponsored by Rep. Tom Murry. He is the son of Channa and Nagu Keshava of Cary.

Shannon Stohlman, a student at Cary Academy, served as a page for the N.C. House of Representatives. She was sponsored by Rep. Kelly Hastings. She is the daughter of Mark and Kelly Stohlman of Morrisville.
