Edward Everette Banks, 83, passed away at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Everette was born on August 18,1930 to Edward Everette Banks and Jane Beavers Banks, in Wake County, NC. He was one of three children: his sister, Martha Banks Davis and his brother, Halca S. Banks, predeceased him.
He attended North Carolina State College and Campbell College, graduating from Campbell. Everette was an Air Force Veteran who was assigned to the 319th Fighter Interceptor Squadron as a Radarman/Navigator during the Korean War. He always spoke fondly and with great pride of the friends he developed while serving his Country. He attended several "Tom Cat" reunions during his life! After the War, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service where he met his loving wife of 36 years, Foye Sapp Banks. Foye predeceased him.
He is survived by his stepson, Wade Sapp and wife, Karin and his stepdaughter, Becky Sapp James and husband, Tom. His family included numerous Banks and Beavers cousins.
Everette had an affinity for cars, especially antique ones, and street rods. He also loved to explore family genealogy and share it with friends. In his later years, he enjoyed exploring his surroundings in his souped-up Yaris, looking for bargains.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends!
