Give those egg cartons to local farmers
In response to the letter writer who suggested that the town of Cary not chicken out on the opportunity to be more environmentally responsible when it comes to recycling Styrofoam egg containers, I say there’s more than one way to scramble that (egg) problem.
Look to your local farmers markets and farmers. They would be happy to take those cartons off your hands and fill them with farm-fresh eggs.
Oh, and you might consider buying your eggs from a local farmer in that same grocery store carton he or she generously recycles on your behalf.
