More about egg cartons

In response to recent letters to the editor about recycling egg cartons: While many, if not most, egg cartons look and feel like Styrofoam, look closely at many of them and you will find that they are in fact recyclable plastic.

The number will be stamped inside and not always easily seen. For example, Eggland’s Best large grade A eggs (available at Harris Teeter) come in a carton stamped 6 PS on the inside cover flap and can therefore be recycled in Cary along with other plastics.
