Hometown heroes: men’s and women’s tennis

While competing for Army, Roman Cacha (Athens Drive 2011) had a 10-1 record during singles play and finished the season with a seven-match win streak. He was also 2-2 in doubles matches.

At Wofford, Graham Duncan (Apex 2012) finished the season with a 1-2 record in singles.

Matt Daly (Cardinal Gibbons 2012) competed sparingly for College of Charleston in the spring but did capture a flight championship with doubles partner Zach Lewis in the fall.

Women’s tennis

Former state champion Melissa Kandinata (Green Hope 2011) saw action in 26 matches this past season, playing mostly at Richmond’s No. 1 spot. She ended the season with a four-match win streak and holds an 11-11 doubles record.

Haleigh Morgus (Cary Academy 2012) duplicated her impressive 19 singles victories at No. 2 from her freshman year. She also tied for the most doubles wins with 15.

Audrey Channell (Green Hope 2013) led Navy’s freshman class in overall singles wins with her 11-6, record and she was 4-0 in doubles matches. Channell also earned 2014 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
