Youth, 17, hurt when car strikes bike in Durham

A car struck a bike that a 17-year-old was riding Sunday night, sending him to the hospital with a head laceration, police said.

The young man’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police.

The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Gray Avenue, near Gearwood Street, about four blocks east of North Roxboro Street in northeast Durham.

Other details of the accident were not immediately available.
