Maintenance glitch knocks out Time Warner Internet service

Time Warner Internet customers in the U.S. lost service for a time early Wednesday when a problem occurred with the company's network during routine maintenance, a spokesman said.

Time Warner Internet customers in the U.S. lost service for a time early Wednesday when a problem occurred with the company's network during routine maintenance, a spokesman said.

The problem started about 4:30 a.m., spokesman Scott Pryzwansky, said, and was largely fixed by 6 a.m.

Pryzwansky described the trouble as “an issue with our Internet backbone” and said it affected Internet and and On Demand television service.
