Two teenagers were each shot in the leg in separate incidents Tuesday night, police reported.
Neither received a life-threatening wound, and police asked the public to give them any information that might help them identify suspects.
Shortly before 8 p.m., Michael Gibson, 18, was shot while he was standing in a common area behind Building 23 in the city’s McDougald Terrace public housing complex, police said.
They said several people were seen running from the area after the shooting.
A little over three hours later, Tylahand Hughes, 17, was shot while he was in the 200 block of Cook Road, a statement said.
Gibson was taken to Duke University Hospital by ambulance, and Hughes was taken by a family member, police said.
They asked anyone who can help them in either case to call CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
