Durham police seek man after two chases, wreck

Police swore out an arrest warrant Friday for a suspect whom they chased twice in two different vehicles after trying to stop the first one Thursday night, officials said.
The chase began between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. on Liberty Street after police used their car lights to stop a vehicle and the driver sped away instead.
The car crashed at , and two passengers in the car were taken to Duke University Hospital, though police said they did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
The driver fled on foot and, a short distance away, frightened two people who fled from their pickup truck and he took it.
Police took up another chase, but the man escaped when he abandoned the pickup a short time later.
Police did not disclose the name of the man they were seeking.
