A 65-year-old woman from Franklinton died late Sunday afternoon on U.S. 70 when a motorcycle she was riding went out of control when she was turning onto N.C. 98, police reported.
Officials identified the woman on Monday as Lena Staton Bryan, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened shortly before 6:15 p.m., police said.
Officers determined that Bryan was turning her Honda Goldwing three-wheeled motorcycle off U.S. 70 when a camping trailer that it was pulling tipped over and she lost control of the motorcycle.
