Police charged a woman with driving while impaired after, they said, she backed her Toyota Camry through the wall of a house over the weekend.
Officers said the car driven Mariana Ayad Mansi Bekheit, 31, who lives in Durham, had hit a parked car on the street before she put her car into reverse and went across the street and through the yard of 4250 Amber Stone Way and broke through a wall.
It happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police spokesman Wil Glenn said.
Neither Bekheit nor anyone in the house was hurt, Glenn said. Bekheit also was charged with driving an uninsured vehicle.
Never miss a local story.
Police decided to leave the car where it was until engineers could figure out how to get it out without causing more damage to the house, Glenn said.
