White to seek House seat
Johnston County school board member Donna White says she will the N.C. House seat held by fellow Republican Leo Daughtry of Smithfield, who has said he will not run again.
“I have prayed and consulted God, my family and friends, and I believe that it is time for me to take to Raleigh the skill and experience that I have exhibited as a member of the Johnston County Board of Education,” White said.
White says her experience as a nurse, community leader and school board member has prepared her with the skills she will need to represent the taxpayers of Johnston County.
“When I go to Raleigh, I will take the assessment skills of a nurse, the commitment to the community of Johnston County and the experience of collaboration to the House,” White said. “What I have enjoyed most during my time on the Board of Education is the opportunity that I have had to meet so many of the citizens of Johnston County. I will continue to be available and approachable while serving in Raleigh.”
