Police identified a woman cyclist killed in a collision with a car last week in Chapel Hill as Pamela Lane, 57, of Coggins Mine Court in Durham.
The collision occurred Friday morning on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just north of the intersection with Hillsborough Street. The cyclist was taken to UNC Hospitals and later died from injuries from the collision.
Investigators think Lane was traveling southbound on the eastern sidewalk of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the motor vehicle was leaving the parking lot of the gas station at the Hillsborough Street intersection.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing and no charges had been filed as of Monday, police said in a release.
