A Greenville teenager who was struck by a car on Capital Boulevard on Friday night died as a result of her injuries, police reported.
The accident occurred just after 7 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Capital near Calvary and New Hope roads, police reported.
Emergency workers transported the girl, Camisha Renay Vines, 17, to WakeMed in Raleigh, where she was pronounced dead, police reported Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses told police that a 2005 Acura driven by Shelia Stewart Johnson, 49, of Raleigh, was traveling north. Vines was crossing the busy roadway from east to west when she was struck by the Acura. The car was moving after the light turned green, police reported.
