Police in Durham and Raleigh say someone used a pellet gun to shoot out the windows of at least 50 vehicles since Monday.
In Raleigh, about 20 cars near Cameron Village and nearby neighborhoods were hit overnight Tuesday. The attacks shattered windows in this SUV and 10 other vehicles on Smallwood Drive and left littered broken glass on the sidewalk on nearby Sutton Drive.
Raleigh police were still not sure they had accounted for all the damaged vehicles and had not made any arrests as of late Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Durham police say they received at least 30 reports of vehicles damaged by pellet guns on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in a widely scattered area on the south side of the city near Interstate 40.
Police in the two cities are trying to determine if the incidents are related.
