A woman who was free on bail in two criminal cases was charged Monday with seriously injuring another woman in a slashing last week.
Shyona Denise Perry, 25, of 3004 Bunnalley Court in Raleigh was arrested in the 700 block of East Martin Street, about two blocks from where the incident happened in the 900 block of East Davie Street on Friday morning.
Police charged Perry with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The victim was slashed in the face with what an arrest warrant described as a “sharp cutting instrument” and was taken to WakeMed Raleigh, police said. She was not listed as a patient there Tuesday.
A magistrate noted in setting Perry’s bail at $250,000 that she had been free on $10,000 bail after an Aug. 17 arrest on a charge of harboring a fugitive and $25,000 bail after an Aug. 5 arrest on counts of selling and delivering cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver it.
