Winners emerged in both primaries for the Wake County clerk of Superior Court, with Democrats choosing Sam Bridges and Republicans selecting Jennifer Knox.
Bridges had 23,135 votes to fellow Democrat Blair Williams’ 19,433 with 208 precincts in.
In the Republican primary for clerk of Superior Court, Knox received 14,902 votes, defeating fellow Republicans Barbara Moore, who had 11,017 votes, and Joe E. Teague Jr., who garnered 9,495.
Bridges and Knox will face off in the fall, with the winner replacing Lorrin Freeman, who is leaving the post. The clerk oversees administrative, clerical and record-keeping functions of the courts.
