Peter Traylor, 49, of Cary was killed Sunday evening when his motorcycle did not make it through a right curve on Western Boulevard near South Boylan Avenue in Raleigh and skidded into a tree, police said Monday.
Traylor, of 216 Farmington Woods Drive, was alone on the motorcycle when it kept going straight as the road curved and hit a curb, then skidded, according to a police report of the accident.
It happened at approximately 6:38 p.m.
Crash investigators said they did not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved and wrote that Traylor was estimated to be going at the 45 mph speed limit when he crashed.
The wreck temporarily closed Western Boulevard's westbound lanes between South Boylan Avenue and Central Prison, police said.
