Police were investigating the circumstances of a shooting in which a man was found wounded inside a home Wednesday morning.
Police received a call about 7 a.m. that someone had been shot at a Perry Howard Road house, town spokeswoman Susan Weis said.
They found a 67-year-old man who had been wounded, and he was rushed to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.
The man’s identity and condition were not immediately available.

Police were trying to determine the circumstances of the shooting, but were confident that the incident posed no danger to the community, Weis said.
