Feed the Need – an annual effort to help the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina – culminates Saturday with Feed the Need Day.
Volunteers will be at events at three Harris Teeter stores from 1 to 4 p.m. to take donations of nonperishable foods. The stores are:
▪ Cameron Village, 500 Oberlin Road in Raleigh.
▪ Crescent Commons, 2080 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.
Never miss a local story.
▪ Falls Pointe, 9600 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh.
Food items also can be left in collection bins at the front of other Harris Teeter stores in the Triangle. Items in demand include canned fruits and vegetables, pastas and rice, cereal, peanut butter, infant formula, diapers, juice boxes, granola bars, crackers, hygiene items and paper products.
All donations will go to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, which serves local soup kitchens and food pantries in 34 counties.
Feed the Need is sponsored by The News & Observer, along with Syngenta, Biogen, Harris Teeter and ABC11.
