An East Carolina University student from Wake Forest was arrested and charged with making a bomb threat Wednesday.
Reshaun Donovon Pintard, 19, was charged with making a false bomb report, a felony, according to Lt. Chris Sutton with the ECU Police Department. Pintard enrolled at ECU in fall 2014 and was a resident of Umstead Hall, the dormitory targeted by the threat.
In a news release Wednesday, university officials said Pintard is no longer an enrolled student at ECU. He is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center on $10,000 bail.
A social media post threatened a bomb at the residence hall, and ECU staff reported it at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. About 250 residents of Umstead were evacuated to Joyner Library while a police K-9 unit searched the building. Students returned to their rooms at 3 a.m.

ECU police said the incident did not appear to be related to a vague threat to campus on social media recently. That case remains under investigation.
