A Wake County deputy sheriff was taken to a hospital as a precaution Monday night after his cruiser crashed while he was on his way to a call about a domestic disturbance, the sheriff's office said.
The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. at South Smithfield Road and King Farm Lane, Capt. James Stevens, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said.
Stevens did not disclose the deputy’s name and said the State Highway Patrol was investigating the accident.
An accident report was unavailable Tuesday morning.
No other vehicles was involved, Stevens said.
The deputy had the car’s emergency equipment on at the time, he said.
