A fire in an apartment at the Washington Terrace complex late Monday sent one person to a hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.
The fire at 421 N. Fisher St. was started by cooking, fire Lt. John B. Razor said.
About a quarter of the one-story building was uninhabitable after the fire, Razor said. Officials called the Red Cross to help three people find a place to stay.
Firefighters got the call at 11:36 p.m., a report said.
