Facilities and programs of the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department will operate as normal Monday, according to a news release issued Sunday, except some youth programs.
Wake County Public Schools remained closed Monday as the county recovered from the winter storm, so the recreation department is offering its Weather Bound Program for a day of structured play.
Hours of the program are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities may include sports, crafts, games, computer games, movies and outdoor play.
The Weather Bound Program will be held at three locations Monday:
Never miss a local story.
▪ Jaycee Community Center, 2405 Wade Ave.;
▪ Green Road Community Center, 4201 Green Road;
▪ John Chavis Community Center, 505 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Also, the city will collect waste on Monday for the customers who would have been served on Friday. Trash and recycling containers and yard waste should be on the curb by 7 a.m. The city suspended waste collection Friday due to the weather.
GoRaleigh buses are scheduled to run regular schedules on Monday. For schedule updates, visit www.raleighnc.gov/transit or call 919-485-RIDE.
