A Garner man died Monday evening in a three-car collision on White Oak Road near Interstate 40, according to the State Highway Patrol.
A vehicle driven by Henry Munday, 79, of Garner, was traveling north on White Oak Road when he went left of center sideswiping a vehicle traveling south, according to patrol spokesman Jeff Gordon in a news release. That vehicle was driven by Philip Lawler, 54, of Garner.
After sideswiping Lawler's vehicle, Munday then struck a third vehicle head-on, Gordon said. The driver of that vehicle, Christopher Wright, 31, of Garner, died at the scene.
Munday was transported to Wake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Gordon said. Lawler was not injured.
Charges are pending, Gordon said.
