A fire started by a lightning strike Wednesday night heavily damaged a house in the Wakefield subdivision in North Raleigh, the fire department reported.
Firefighters got a call just after 8:30 p.m. for the three-story home at 3005 Avensburg Court, a report stated.
Fire was coming from the roof of the house when the first engine arrived, firefighters said.
They estimated about half of the house was damaged by fire, smoke and water.
The blaze forced four people to find other housing, officials said.
An investment company in Arizona bought the home last month, Wake County records show.
