The town Wednesday lifted a boil-water advisory it has issued for 70 homes in a neighborhood where a pipe broke early Tuesday.
Laboratory tests found no safety issues with water sampled in the Wellington Park area after the pipe was repaired and water flowed to the homes again about 3 p.m.
Residents had been told to boil water for three minutes before using it for any kind of consumption or for washing dishes.
“We’re glad to have service back to normal, and we appreciate everyone’s support during the outage. Our crews did an incredible job, working quickly to identify and fix the problem line,” said Jamie Revels, Utilities Department director.
Never miss a local story.
Revels also said that drivers in the Kirkfield Drive area might encounter detours while paving crews repair the street that water workers had to dig up.
