A parade of firefighters, emergency medical workers and police cordoned off a section of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh Thursday afternoon while responding to a minor fire.
Firefighters were alerted about 1:07 p.m. and arrived at 227 Fayetteville Street, a multi-storied, recently refurbished building in the heart of the downtown district, said Laura Hourigan, a police spokeswoman.
The firefighters upon arrival connected a fire hose to a hydrant outside the building.
A division fire chief, G.B. Bridges said there was a minor, accidental fire on the 10th floor of the building.
“It’s out now,” he said just before 1:40 p.m.
