Police detectives were working Thursday to find out what happened that left a man in a car with gunshots wounds Wednesday night.
The man, whose identity police did not disclose, had been shop multiple times when police found him in a car in the 1800 block of Guthrie Avenue after answering a cal, about shots being fired in the area.
The man told police before he was taken to Duke University Hospital that he was near Guthrie and Holloway Street when someone on the sidewalk opened fire and bullets ripped into his car.
The victim was reported to be in stable condition Thursday, police said.
