Durham police investigate homicide

Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday morning near North Duke Street and Horton Road.

According to investigators, shots were fired at an SUV, which collided with a Toyota sedan traveling westbound on Horton Road. The crash sent the Toyota into a utility pole, which broke. The SUV went into a yard and hit a tree.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and remained unidentified late Saturday. He had been shot at least once. The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital.
